Enormous congratulations to junior member, Alex Romanowski who has won the Spanish Open!

This competition is a tough 54 hole championship played across three courses: The Alto, Real Club Valderrama and So Sotogrande.  We hear the weather was pretty brutal so doubly well done to Alex, who is only 9 years old, for battling through.

Alex has now won 5 junior opens; the British, the Spanish,  ⁠2 Turkish and the Polish.   Not bad for a 9 year old!

Congratulation to David Menzies who scored a hole in one today!  

David was playing in the Senior's Winter Stableford this morning.  On the 13th hole, he hit his ace shot with a 5 iron and after hitting the bank at the front of the green, on the ball rolled into the hole.

Well done David.

Our new Club Captain drove in in style on Sunday in a classic Jaguar XJS with three other classic cars accompanying him.  Dressed up as a king, Paul was joined by a number of junior members who all proceeded to hit golf balls at the many past Captains waiting on the 14th tee!  (No one was hurt, the balls were airflow balls)!

On reaching the tee and after downing a large brandy, Paul then hit his drive, an impressive 205 yds, 1ft.

After having his picture taken with all the past Captains, they then  clapped Paul into a packed out Clubhouse.  After Paul's speech, everyone enjoyed drinks and a buffet.

Member, Nick Farrow drew the closest yardage, winning an overnight stay with dinner and 2 rounds of golf at East Sussex National.  Paul put up a second prize of a magnum of Prosecco for his second drive with an 8 iron which was won by member, Roy Pook.

A great day Paul and a great drive!  We wish you a very enjoyable and successful Captain's year.

The Senior's Captain, Martin Gasson, also hit a very respectable drive and we wish him too, every success for his year.
